MEET YOUR POLLINATOR PARTY HOSTS!

Jessica Fox is a Senior Technical Executive at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), a non-profit scientific research organization. 

In 2018, Ms. Fox launched the EPRI Power-in-Pollinators Initiative, which is now the largest effort in North America for electric power companies to collaborate on pollinator conservation research and projects.  Previously, Fox led EPRI’s Energy Sustainability Interest Group from 2011 through 2016 to become the largest collaborative forum in the industry to advance critical issues related to sustainable electricity. In 2015, Ms. Fox accepted the United States Water Prize for creating the Ohio River Basin Water Quality Trading Project, the first multi-state exchange for farmers to create and sell water quality credits.  In both 2017 and 2021, Fox was recognized as Top Innovator (The Fantastic Forty) by Public Utilities Fortnightly. Her projects have been covered by the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, National Public Radio, Bloomberg, and others. She previously worked as a molecular biologist leading conservation genetics projects on dragonflies in Costa Rica, at Stanford University sequencing and mapping the human genome, and as invasive weed field biologist for U.S. Bureau of Land Management. She has a Bachelor’s of Science from University of California at Davis, and a Master’s of Science from Stanford University.   

Kelly Bills, Executive Director for Pollinator Partnership, has been dedicated to pollinator conservation for a decade. Her focus is on large-scale habitat projects, plant-pollinator interactions, and agricultural and industry engagement.

Kelly holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She has also received a Master’s of Science in Environmental Management (Ecology Concentration) from the University of San Francisco. Her background in ecology, conservation, and culture has propelled her career in the non-profit sector.

Prior to Pollinator Partnership (P2), Kelly worked at another Bay Area-based environmental non-profit called Conservacion Patagonica (CP). Kelly manages the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC), National Pollinator Week, www.pollinator.org [pollinator.org], and pollinator grants and scholarships. Kelly serves on the Board of Directors of Pollinator Partnership Canada, the Advisory Committee of the Monarch Joint Venture, and the Steering Committee for PlantAgents.

The Pollinator Power Party is made possible by collaborators of the Power-in-Pollinator Initiative, the largest effort of its kind in North America to consider pollinator conservation in the daily operations of electric power companies.
